About Us

Jud Bartlett

Hi, I'm Jud Bartlett, the founder, designer, and all-around do-everything guy here at Flags for Antarctica. Thanks for taking the time to learn more about the company.

In 2022, I was looking for a 7th Continent flag to send south with guests from my Antarctica-only travel agency. Frustrated by the offerings on Amazon and elsewhere, I decided to take matters into my own hands. I designed the artwork for the first set of flags and went down a rabbit-hole to find the perfect fabric and printing process that would travel well and look great. The flags are printed and sewn in small batches in New Jersey and I ship everything personally from my home in Vermont.

I opened this basic web store to offer the flags to any Antarctic travelers who wanted one and it's always so much fun to connect with people who are headed off on their trip of a lifetime. I love seeing pictures of customers in Antarctica with their flags and it feels great to know that something I created is part of such a special time in their lives.

As travelers, we have a responsibility to be aware of our impact on the planet so 7% of proceeds are donated to non-profit causes that help protect the wildlife and landscape of Antarctica.

If you ever have questions about the flags, have a problem with an order, or want to share your 7th Continent photo, you can email me at judson@thenextbigtrip.com or use the contact form. I'm always thrilled to hear from fellow travelers.
